Assessment for Units 

Based on the assessment criteria the whole unit will naturally fulfill the content with specified worksheets and class activities. All students will understand their process of assessment based upon feedback in many forms. Assignments will be given a raw mark out of 100%. Some class activities will also be assessed with raw marks based on the weighted assessments and outcomes.

Critical and Art Historical Studies 



4.1 Explores aspects of practice in critical and historical interpretations of art.
4.2 Explores the functions of and relations between the artist-artworks-world-audience. 
4.3 Begins to acknowledge that art can be interpreted from different points of view.
4.4 Recognises that art criticism and art history construct meanings. 



Art Making 


4.5 Uses a range of strategies to explore different artmaking conventions and procedures to make artworks. 

4.6 Explores the function of and relationships between artist-artwork-world-audience 
4.7 Makes artworks that involve some understanding of the frames 
4.8 Recognises and uses aspects of the world as a source of ideas, concepts and subject matter in the visual arts. 
4.9 Investigates ways to develop meaning in their artworks. 
4.10 Selects different materials and techniques to make artworks. 


Internal Assessment 


  1. Demonstrates a good understanding of the conventions and techniques of using mix, dry mediums in planing and designing 2D, 3D and 4D drawing. 
  2. Uses the structural frame and the conceptual framework to select appropriate materials, objects and construction techniques to create signs and symbols to represent subject matter. 
  3. Experiments, evaluates, reflects and considers judgements and intentions in communicating a perceptive point of view about subject matter through diagrams, annotated sketches and documentation in the Visual Arts diary.

Grade A: The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.

Grade B: The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.

79% - 60%

Grade C: The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.

59% - 30%

Grade D: The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.

29% -10%

Grade E: The student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills.
