JOANNA DARBY

Creation and appreciation of beauty are not separate. In that moment of appreciation the beholder experiences those precise emotions, which passed through the mind of the creator in the moment of creation. It is therefore when we are most like God. This is my motivation for creating art, and also my understanding of the purpose of art. I believe that the secret of producing effective art is producing something which resonates with and empowers all people, not just as viewers, but as creators.”
